completely new to astrophotography, shot on a Nikon Z50 + Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 These are HDRs with some failed attempts to edit. Still excited and practicing to get better. On the Z 9, the AF performance of the adapted 500PF is just as fast and accurate as the native 100-400. Also, on the Z 9 there is essentially no loss in AF performance using a TC-14 behind the 500PF or a TC 1.4x behind the 100-400.COMPLETED Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f4 G ED VR - Lower Price!! Minuteman3. From your experience is the 200,000 conservative or should I factor in a shutter replacement, or just pray it lasts well over 220,000. Anybody have any shutter count data for the D850. Thanks in advance if anybody can help me decide.

While doing a lot of online research, I initially was looking at a D850. Liked the features a lot, and the 45MP sensor seems to perform magnificently.

Mar 27, 2023. #11. My foray into the Z cameras was a used Z5, which came with the 24-50mm "kit lens". It had a fairly low shutter count, and I used it for virtually the same subject matter as my D810, via the FTZ adapter.

Sep 30, 2013. #6. I am surprised how well my D7100 works at high ISO (above 2000) in darker situations---big BIG jump in performance in this area over earlier camera bodies. At this time, I am using two older f2.8 zooms (20-35 and 35-70) and the newest 70-200 f2.8 VR2---happy with them---now thinking about the new 80-400 AF-S VR lens...

Nikon Cafe. Friendly Nikon camera forums since 2005.Don't overlook the 16-85mm VR. Yes, it's slower, but the IQ according to many reviewers is comparable to the 17-55, and it's wider (yes, 1mm does make a difference) and longer, with VR.Focus is swift and sure and it makes for a nicer travel/walkaround lens vs the 24-70.
