In January 1986 the funeral home moved to its current location on Washington Boulevard. The modern 8,000 square foot brick facility was designed by Steed-Hammonds-Paul Architects and was the first funeral home in Hamilton to be built exclusively as a funeral home in Hamilton. The firm shortened its name to Weigel Funeral Home in the 1990's.
