I bought the OEM spool valve assembly (Honda # 15810-R70-A04) so that I would have the original gaskets. I also used the top portion of the new assembly in the repair. No leaks or CEL since. They quoted me a price of $1400 to replace the spool valve and valve cover gasket ($680 parts, $720 for 6 hours of labor), and $860 for replacing the alternator ($440 parts, $420 for 3.5 hours labor). This is only evident when the Car is running for longer period of time but when this does happens I can smell a bit of a burning sensation. I'm assuming the oil is leaking down to the alternator area etc.
